Dr. Surakiart has returned to Siam Premier International law Office, Ltd as Chairman of the Board of Directors. He co-founded Siam Premier in 1990 which has become one of the largest law firms in Thailand with 18 partners and 40 associates. In 1993, Siam Premier formed a strategic relationship with Allens Arthur Robinson, the Australian law firm, becoming part of an international network of 12 regional offices including offices throughout Australia as well as Beijing, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Dr. Surakiart is also President of the Saranrom Institute of Foreign Affairs Foundation (SIFAF). The Foundation supports the activities of the Institute which serves as the academic arm and think tank of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. The Foundation was established upon the initiative of Dr. Surakiart during his tenure as Foreign Minister. Prominent personalities who had been invited by Dr. Surakiart to speak at the SIFA Lecture series include Nobel Prize Laureate Joseph Stiglitz, ICJ Judge Owada, and former Foreign Minister of South Korea Yoon Young Kwan.
