European Visits:
France and Denmark.
Deputy Prime Minister Surakiart had a meeting with French
Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy at Quai d'Orsay
(French Foreign Ministry). They discussed the implementation
of the Plan of Action between Thailand and France as well
as cooperation in assisting victims of the Tsunami disaster.
France expressed support for the granting of EU GSP to
Thai shrimps. They also exchanged views on regional developments
and international issues, particularly the UN reform process.
Deputy Prime Minister Surakiart called on Danish Prime
Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen at his office. They had
a productive discussion on regional developments and global
issues including the UN reform process. Denmark also expressed
support for the granting of EU GSP for Thai shrimps. |

Lao PDR Visit.
Most recently, Dr. Surakiart visited Lao PDR on 8 July
to discuss latest developments regarding the campaign,
in particular development of an ASEAN strategy. |
